You’ve been dreaming of your Tanzanian safari for so long and the day when it begins has finally arrived. We’ll greet you, give you a quick rundown on what happens next and answer your questions. Then we’ll take you out to discover what this incredible country has to offer. You won’t find many better national parks in Africa than the Serengeti, which has few rivals when it comes to both the numbers and variety of animals. Track down the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Enjoy the vast horizons that are perfect for spotting predators (especially lions, leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas) and their prey (buffaloes, impalas and kongoni), as well as elephants and giraffes. If you’re really lucky you’ll see a hunt, one of the most exhilarating sights anywhere in the wild. And at every turn, revel in its beauty, with flat-topped acacia trees silhouetted against the setting sun, and so many other classic African safari images.

You’re in for something special on your early morning game drive in the Serengeti. Animals such as big cats and elephants are often most active at this time of day, and the cool conditions and soft light make for a brilliant experience. You’re sure to take lots of photos, see lots of animals, and never want the drive to end.

Day 3 → Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro is a special place and the first time that you descend onto the crater floor is like no other safari experience in Africa. This is a world unto itself, one where you’ll encounter the crater’s 600-strong population of hyenas, as well as critically endangered black rhinos. You’ll also find elephants with largerthan-average tusks, and more than 50 lions living in the crater. But it’s the sheer beauty of Ngorongoro that will most likely live longest in your memory. From early morning, mist rises from the crater, revealing steep, forested walls, secret waterways where hippos wallow, and a world of abundant wildlife hidden away from the rest of the world.

Day 1 → Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha after breakfast. After a short safari briefing, drive through the beautiful Maasai countryside towards Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s hidden gems and home to the country’s largest concentration of elephants. Upon entering the park, your first game drive begins immediately. Tarangire is famous for its ancient baobab trees, seasonal Tarangire River, and impressive wildlife. Keep your camera ready as you search for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, ostriches, and over 500 species of birds. During the dry season, thousands of animals gather around the Tarangire River, making wildlife viewing truly spectacular. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park surrounded by nature before continuing your afternoon game drive through different habitats, each offering unique wildlife encounters. In the late afternoon, leave the park and drive to Karatu, where you’ll relax and enjoy dinner after an exciting first day on safari. After breakfast, enjoy one final morning game drive in Serengeti, taking advantage of the active wildlife during the cooler hours of the day. Slowly make your way toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area while continuing to spot wildlife along the route. The changing landscapes—from open savannah to lush highlands—provide spectacular photographic opportunities. Stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to your beautiful camp nestled within the highlands. Spend the evening relaxing around the camp while enjoying the fresh mountain air and preparing for tomorrow’s extraordinary crater safari.

The crater is home to an astonishing concentration of wildlife living within its natural walls. Enjoy an unforgettable game drive while searching for elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, jackals, flamingos, zebras, wildebeests, and the rare endangered black rhinoceros. Your guide will take you to some of the crater’s best wildlife viewing locations while sharing fascinating stories about its unique ecosystem. Following breakfast, drive to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly diverse park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Despite its size, Lake Manyara boasts an impressive variety of habitats, including lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, hot springs, acacia woodlands, and the soda lake itself. Enjoy a leisurely game drive while searching for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, buffaloes, blue monkeys, and an abundance of birdlife including flamingos, pelicans, storks, and fish eagles. After a picnic lunch, enjoy your final game drive before returning to Arusha in the late afternoon.
